Ree Drummond has always been a tried-and-true pizza fan, but she never imagined she'd turn her passion for the cheesy comfort food into a business.

Today, Ree and her husband Ladd's P-Town Pizza is a must for those visiting their town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. It's always buzzing with tourists and locals excited to gather with loved ones and dig into the delicious menu. So it may come as a surprise to hear that Ree wasn't immediately on board when Ladd first suggested opening a pizza joint.

To be fair, she was busy shooting episodes of her Food Network show at the time, and already had her hands full with The Mercantile, their general store and restaurant, and their inn, The Boarding House.

"I always accuse him of waiting until I’m busy filming to start these kinds of projects," she says.

But as soon as her team started testing recipes, Ree was sold. "When I tried that first pie, a pepperoni, I knew it would all be really good," she says.

Without many places to get a great slice in the area, Ree wanted to make sure P-Town served pizza as good as what you'd find in New York City or Naples. This took plenty of effort—like importing a wood-fired oven from Italy and making 73 attempts to get the dough just right. But it paid off: P-Town's thin crusts and premium ingredients have attracted hundreds of visitors a day since the restaurant first opened in 2018.

On Fridays and Saturdays P-Town is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and it's closed on Sundays.

What's on the menu?

P-Town's signature slices are made with ingredients from some of the best Italian-food purveyors in the country, and guests can choose from classics topped with nothing but cheese to specialty pies like the Lots of Meat (loaded with sausage, pepperoni, ham, and more—YUM!).

We see why it's Ree's favorite: Potatoes, bacon, and cheese make quite the combo.

The restaurant's extensive menu features much more than just pizza, including salads, chicken wings, a unique spin on garlic knots, a handful of signature cocktails with hilarious names, and some "dangerously delicious" layered Mason jar desserts. (We'll take two.)

Whatever you order, Ree recommends pairing it with the Caprese Bloody Mary—because it involves cheese, obviously.

Does The Pioneer Woman's pizza shop take reservations?

No, P-Town does not accept reservations at this time—but you won't regret waiting for a table!
